Behind the Vision: Zach, Director of Development
We know a lot of companies say this, but here at Brighter Vision we think our customers are the greatest. Since the Brighter Vision process is designed to be so customized and personal to you and your vision, we get to know our customers pretty darn well – so we figured it’s only fair we return the favor!
Introducing Behind the Vision, where you can get to know a Brighter Vision employee a little better and get an inside peek at the team helping you grow your practice.
This month, I got to catch up with Zach, our Director of Development. Zach is the head of one of our Orange Team of website designers, so if you’re a Brighter Vision customer you may have already had the pleasure of meeting him. 🙂 Zach is one of our experts on staff who helps make your website dream a reality, and he’s great at what he does.
Please share a couple facts about the career journey that brought you to Brighter Vision.
I started off my creative journey as a wee lad… Alright, maybe not that far back. I went to college at the University of Northern Colorado for Art and Design. I actually emphasized in painting there, when I was that aforementioned wee lad. I wanted to be an illustrator that drew exciting stuff like wizards, monsters, and Batman. Thankfully I never lost sight of that and I still draw and paint in my free time. When I got out of college I became a coffee wizard at my local Starbucks and I was quickly promoted there to Shift Supervisor.
Before getting hired at Brighter Vision, I worked for a small non-profit as an Art Director for their literature anthology, I worked alongside a Comic Book Artist, and I also handled a number of freelance clients. Then a couple more hops, skips, and jumps and I landed an interview at Brighter Vision. When I started we were a much smaller team with the same exciting goal of helping our clients market their practices. Now we are a much larger team and the process has changed a lot internally, which is one of my favorite parts of working at Brighter Vision: new ideas are nurtured and implemented often.
How long have you been working at Brighter Vision?
In March I will have been here 2 years.
What’s your role here at Brighter Vision? / How do you spend your day?
I’m the Director of Development here at Brighter Vision. I typically spend my day on the phone helping our clients realize their brand and answering their questions. I also spend my time supporting the development team and addressing their needs.
Can you tell us about one of your favorite / most memorable Brighter Vision clients?
I’ve definitely had a lot of memorable clients so it’s hard to choose just one, but I would have to say Ben Wheat. I worked closely with him to create what is still my favorite site built on our “Bubbles” theme.

What’s one of your favorite Brighter Vision websites right now?
I would have to say Melinda Brackett’s Critical Path Counseling. I worked closely with her to build both her sites and I think they both turned out great!

What are your hopes for Brighter Vision in the future?
I hope we can continue to grow to help more people with their online marketing. Online marketing can be complex so I enjoy helping our clients refine their marketing message so it speaks to their ideal clients. I hope we can continue to expand to help more people with this.
If you could give Brighter Vision therapists one tip about how to best use their Brighter Vision website and marketing tools, what would it be?
Content is king, when it comes to search engine optimization, having content on your pages is a must. The design is important for a first impression, but in order to get that positive first impression you need content that Google can index.
