SSL Certificates Come Standard with All Brighter Vision Websites
I am so excited to announce that all Brighter Vision customers now receive SSL Certificates for free for their website.
It is so important in this day and age, and especially in Behavioral Health, that all data is encrypted. SSL certificates (that green bar you see) allows your website to establish a secure link between your website and the website visitor.
We are in the process of rolling out SSL certificates to all Brighter Vision customers and will have this finished within a few days. All new websites are by default taken live onto the Internet with SSL Certificates enabled.
Why SSL Certificates Matter
SSL Certificates are becoming the standard across the web.
They will help your website in a variety of ways, including:
- SEO – Within a few months, Google will start ranking websites higher if they have an SSL Certificate
- Trust – Potential clients will trust you and your website more when they see the standard Green Bar
- Security – SSL Certificates make your website and any data submitted to it more secure and help close security loopholes that may have previously existed
What Comes Next…
We have a *VERY* exciting roll-out in the next few weeks for all Brighter Vision customers related to security and data encryption.
We take your privacy, data and security, as well as that of your clients, very seriously. As part of your Brighter Vision service, we always keep your website up-to-date, with a variety of proprietary tools and technology that forces hackers away from your website. A major reason many customers sign up with Brighter Vision is because your website’s safety and security comes standard, and you can have the peace of mind that everything is taken care of for you.
In the next few weeks, we will take your website security and encryption to an entirely new level, something no other website provider is doing for mental health professionals.
We are *very* excited about this and can’t wait to share…
Stay tuned!

this may sound crazy but how does this effect the HIPPA complaint sites. I’m still in the process of developing my site and just wanted to know
Perry Rosenbloom says
Hi Tisa,
Not a crazy question at all π
It doesn’t impact the technology used for that at all. The sites we use HushForms on speak directly to Hushmail when the form is submitted. The data never even touches our server. Having an SSL certificate just helps increase the trust.
Feel free to email me directly if you have further questions: perryr at brightervision.com π

For us older members not as versed in the latest, what does SSL stand for? It is not defined once on this page or on the announcement.
Perry Rosenbloom says
Hi Paul,
SSL stands for ‘Socket Secure Layer’. What it means though is that a secure connection is created between the website visitor (your potential client) and the server where information is sent (your Brighter Vision website).
Any time you see the Green bar at the top of a website means that the website has an SSL certificate. Hopefully this screenshot helps: https://screencast.com/t/EIM3nCXUXr
