Behind the Vision: Samantha, Senior Lead Designer
We know a lot of companies say this, but here at Brighter Vision, we think our customers are the greatest. Since the Brighter Vision process is designed to be so customized and personal to you and your vision, we get to know our customers pretty darn well – so we figured it’s only fair we return the favor!
Welcome to Behind the Vision, where you can get to know a Brighter Vision employee a little better and get an inside peek at the team helping you grow your practice.
This month, I got to catch up with Samantha, the Senior Lead Designer on our Blue Team. Samantha was initially brought on as a member of our Support Team where she helped clients with updating their live websites before she made the switch over to our Website Design Team. So, if you have a Brighter Vision website or are currently in the process of building one, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve had the pleasure of working with her 🙂

Please share a couple of facts about the career journey that brought you to Brighter Vision.
After an extended, non-traditional approach to college, I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming with a focus in Graphic Design. I wanted to relocate my tiny family to Colorado to pursue becoming a website designer, although most of my development experience was self-taught.
After a few great interviews with Brighter Vision, I was hired to be a part of the Support Team. Since then, I have been moved over to the Development Team and promoted into the role of the Senior Lead Designer for the Blue Team.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I spend the majority of my free time outdoors, whether it is hiking with my son Amari, or going kayaking.
I also spend my free time painting, drawing, and creating 3D models or simply binge-watching Disney+ with Amari.
How long have you been working at Brighter Vision?
I have been working at Brighter Vision since February 2019 — almost two years.
What is your role here at Brighter Vision? How do you spend your day?
I spent my first 10 months working on the Support Team before switching to the Development Team. I am now the Senior Lead Designer for the Blue Team.
I spend my day designing websites, assisting clients with edits through phone calls and emails, and offering as much help as I can to our Junior Developers.
Can you tell us about one of your favorite or most memorable Brighter Vision clients?
One of my most memorable clients to work with has been Kathryn Healey and her family that she is in practice with; her husband and two daughters. Our regular design consults have led to a lot of laughter and a complete redesign of her website from what she felt initially was ‘impersonal’ and is now exactly what she was looking for.
What’s one of your favorite Brighter Vision websites right now?
J.D. Murphy Christian Counseling is one of my favorite BV websites. I loved building this website from the colors to the non-traditional layout of the home page.
What are your hopes for Brighter Vision in the future?
Since I started working for Brighter Vision, the company has grown so much. They’ve developed quite a few tools to assist therapists in marketing their practice while also doubling our clientele. I am excited to see how we will grow in the future and how large the company will become!
If you could give Brighter Vision therapists one tip about how to best use their Brighter Vision website and marketing tools, what would it be?
I would suggest taking advantage of our marketing tools like Social Genie to automate their blog and social media posts. It really is ‘marketing made simple’ for private practices!

If you could suggest one of our blog posts to read TODAY, which would it be?
I would suggest reading Copyright 101: Protect Yourself and Your Business. Many of our clients believe that we can use any images on their website no matter where they’ve found them but, unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
This post does a great job of explaining the risks of using copyrighted images without permission as well as providing reputable resources for finding free-use stock photos.
If you had to pick a new mascot for Brighter Vision, what would it be?
If I had to pick a new mascot for Brighter Vision, I would pick a coffee bean.
Coffee is the fuel that keeps us all going!
Thanks so much to Samantha for spending the time with us today and telling us what she loves about being a part of the Brighter Vision family and her own vision for the future.
