Create Your Google Analytics Account
Follow this link to reach Google Analytics, then click Start for free.1
Follow all the instructions to complete your account setup.
Note that you’ll need to already be logged into the Google account you want associated with your therapist website. You can check this by going to Google.com and checking which account you’re logged into in the upper-righthand corner.
Once your new account is set up, sign into it here if you aren’t already.
Register Your Website to Your Google Analytics Account
From your Google Analytics dashboard, click on the Admin tab.1
Click on your correct account in the dropdown menu at the top of the Account column, and then click on Create Property in the Property column.2 (Your website is a “property” that we want to register to your account.)
On the following page, select “Website” and write in your website’s name (typically the name of your practice) before inputting your website URL by following the instructions.2
(Remember, if you’re a Brighter Vision customer, your URL starts with “https://” because your site is secured for free!)

Set Up Tracking of Your Website Data
In order to start tracking your website date, you’re also going to need to set up a “view” for it in your Google Analytics account.
Let’s head back to the Admin tab. Double-check the dropdown menus in the Account column and the Property column for the correct choices, then click Create View in the View column.3
Select “Website” on this page, and when it asks for a “Reporting View Name,” input the name of your practice website again (or something similar).
Click Create View when you’re done inputting all your information to submit and create your new view.
Get Your Tracking ID + Start Tracking!
Find your way to that familiar Property column again and then click Tracking Info. Under that, click Tracking Code.4
On the next page, copy all the code given to you in the section called “Global Site Tag.”
If you’re a Brighter Vision customer, all you need to do then is email customer support with that code, and they’ll take care of the rest. 🙂
If you’re not a BV customer, take that code snippet and paste it into the <HEAD> section code of every webpage you want to track on your website.4
And just like that, we’re done!
