Behind the Vision: Abby, Senior Lead Web Developer
We know a lot of companies say this, but here at Brighter Vision we think our customers are the greatest. Since the Brighter Vision process is designed to be so customized and personal to you and your vision, we get to know our customers pretty darn well – so we figured it’s only fair we return the favor!
Introducing Behind the Vision, where you can get to know a Brighter Vision employee a little better and get an inside peek at the team helping you grow your practice.
This month, I got to catch up with Abby, our Senior Lead Web Developer and the head of Blue Team, one of our expert teams of web designers. Abby spends much of her day helping clinicians like you discover their dream website & marketing plan. If you’re a Brighter Vision customer, you may have already experienced exactly how friendly and helpful Abby is. 🙂
Please share a couple facts about the career journey that brought you to Brighter Vision.
I spent four fun years attending school at Loyola University Chicago where I got the chance to learn tons about advertising, marketing, and design (both from school and real life experience). During one of my summers in “Chi,” I interned at a Marketing Agency where I got the opportunity to manage a couple micro-sites on WordPress for companies such as Frank’s Red Hot. This was my first step into website design.
Fast forward 3 years, 2 internships, and 1 new city later, I’m a transplant in Colorado doing freelance web and graphic design for a big pet food brand. After my project with that company ended I found Brighter Vision and loved the work environment. I quickly joined the team, and am now able able to fully integrate all of my skills in my current position as a Senior Lead Web Developer.
How long have you been working at Brighter Vision?
1 year.
What’s your role here at Brighter Vision? / How do you spend your day?
I typically spend my day interacting with clients via phone and email. During these interactions I could be assisting with edits, giving marketing/branding advice, writing custom code, or answering client questions & concerns. I am also in charge of managing each of Blue Team’s projects.
Can you tell us about one of your favorite / most memorable Brighter Vision clients?
Hm, that’s a tough one! I love most of my clients! Every one is unique – a good mother never picks favorites. 😉
What’s one of your favorite Brighter Vision websites right now?
One of my favorite websites I was able to create and work on a few months ago is Integrative Psychology Services.

What are your hopes for Brighter Vision in the future?
I hope that we can turn into the company version of a website mogul, creating affordable, custom websites for people far and wide.
If you could give Brighter Vision therapists one tip about how to best use their Brighter Vision website and marketing tools, what would it be?
Stay on brand!! A common downfall we see is that people want to add things to their site because that’s what they like. But you have to remember that your site is only 10% for you and 90% for your potential patients/clients. It needs to be user-friendly and has to communicate your message in a way in which appeals to your demographic.
If you could suggest one of our blog posts to read TODAY, which would it be?
One of the most common questions we get is regarding domain names, so I send to many of my clients to our awesome article, Choosing a Domain Name.
If you had to pick a different mascot for Brighter Vision, what would it be?
My dog, Koda, because he’s objectively the most attractive dog in Colorado.
Look how handsome Koda is! The camera loves that pooch. 🙂
Thanks so much to Abby for spending the time with us today and telling us what she loves about being a part of the Brighter Vision family and her own vision for the future.
