TTE 89: How to Go From a Mostly Full Solo Practice to a Thriving Group Practice
This is one of my favorite podcasts we ever recorded. You need to listen to how Sorrenta Stuart created a Boutique Service for people to get full, holistic care.
Her journey from solo practice owner to holistic group practice is one you must listen to if you’re trying to figure out how to make the jump. Her practice now includes a hypnotherapist, somatic therapist, school psychologist, MFT, an associate that specializes in new moms, a male associate that focuses on teens, and a psychiatrist. My goodness. Just listen, OK? 🙂
Before you get started, here’s a little teaser of what Sorrenta recommends as the action steps to go from a solo practice to a group practice:
- Find a larger space. Look at real estate and room. Find a space you can grow into. You can sublet multiple locations.
- Find subletters. Think about your overhead. How can you make your rent NULL? Let’s say your rent went from 800/m, to 2k/m. Put an ad out and find subletters to make it so your rent is the same as it was previously.
- What’s your lead inflow look like? Are you turning away business? If so, hire 1099 therapists to work for you under your umbrella. If you are not turning away business, build up your referral network and do things to drive in more business.

Thanks to Sorrenta for joining me this week. Until next time!

This is interesting. How did she find her associates and does she plan to hire more? What criteria does she use when hiring?
